It only looks for and uploads if and when the app is fired up from being completely closed. (If in doubt of having enough time, I just reset to Never for the duration of the upload.)Īlso, it appears the My Cloud app does not continue to look for new files to upload when it is running. So, as you read, auto lock of iOS device needs to be set to Never if one has a lot of photos/videos to back up initially, Subsequent backups do not usually require a Never setting (Auto lock on my devices is usually set to 3 minutes after my initial backup with My Cloud if I only have a few new files each time. READ THIS My Cloud 3rd Party & Mobile Apps I went to use it yesterday and found it’s been replaced with a new version that’s clearly not ready yet. It had the same issues as the android client but I could do the start up and data reload while docked at work and then take the tablet to lunch with me. I had been using the html5 client on a win8 tablet until a week or so ago. I’ll try to make time to do some skittering out and about on the phone to confirm that the stability is sorted and see how it does on 3g but things are a bit hectic at the moment so it might take me a while. I also haven’t had any stability issues though I really haven’t spent long enough on it to put it to proper test. It now seems to be starting up in quite acceptable time. Having said that, the 8 minute start up from the other day hasn’t been repeated on a number of restarts since. Things were so slow to start up on WiFi that I didn’t see the point trying it on 3g.
